New Classic Electra!

We are peaking!
Just released to our
dealers as well, this kit
is a very sweet deal
we've been working on!
We can now offer a
stunning "Classic"
model of the Electra.
This is a version of the
Contest bike we displayed in the RE Community Newsletter. I think
it will solve whatever issues some customers have with the Electra's
more contemporary 1970’s styling. Successful in Europe, it effectively
teams the great mechanics of the Electra with the ambience of
the Classic Enfields.

The Classic Electra is our stock Electra modified to include a new and
handsome tank in either Green and Chrome or Black and Chrome,
paired with a deeper-valenced and wider 350-style chrome front
fender that's very popular with classic bike enthusiasts.
First come, first serve, the first Classic Electras will be available in
about 2 weeks and only in limited quantities at this time from a
Royal Enfield dealer, so you need to contact the dealer closest
to you to get your hands on one. There is no guarantee on quantity
and availability once the dealers start claiming them for their client

KINETIC AQUILA

In context of the Indian market starved of exotic machinery it doesn’t take a crystal ball to gauge the impact the Aquila will have but I’d much rather the bike does the talking when she is available to the public. The Eliminator and the Enticer have already proved without doubt that there is no dearth of consumers in the cruiser market. And with unmatched performance and decent fuel efficiency, in tandem with the most desirable of packages, there is no way the Aquila can lose. The Aquila could however sell itself solely on merit of its looks and the image it personifies. I do also hope that Kinetic is able to provide an adequate service backup which may prove to be a hindrance if not attented to.

At Rs 1.45 lakh on-road Mumbai, Pune, Delhi and Chandigarh (in Bangalore it will cost a couple of thousand more), the Aquila is the most expensive bike in India. But one must also know that the Aquila sold in Korea and Australia is priced much higher. What raises desirability no end more like a limited edition series is that Kinetic only plans to bring in a 100 Aquilas, which will be dispensed on a first come first serve basis. So unless you are quickest on the draw with your cheque book, the Aquila is a dream bike which may prove to be a case of here-today-gone-tomorrow.

BAJAJ PULSAR 220 CC

BAJAJ PULSAR 220CC (dtsi)

Bajaj is coming out with the new Bajaj Pulsar DTS-Fi motorcycle, following the huge success of its Pulsar DTS-i. The Bajaj Pulsar 180cc DTS-i took biking to a new level, and the new Pulsar DTS-Fi is all set to take it to greater heights. The Bajaj Pulsar DTS-Fi is powered by a 220cc engine and offers a cool 20bhp. With 1.95kg of torque, it would be a wonder if this bike from Bajaj does not make it to the top of the charts.

The Bajaj Pulsar DTS-Fi is expected to touch a top speed of 135kph. That is an excellent top speed in Indian conditions, probably matched only by the Kinetic Aquila - which anyway is not available in India now.he tyres of the new DTS-Fi are tubeless and hence offers an exciting riding experience. The 55 watt projector low-beam headlamp offers a decent view of the road ahead. The fully digital dash is easy to read and difficult to mistake. The distinctive tail lamps of the Pulsar DTS-Fi adds a bit of dash. Overall, the body of the motorcycle still looks like the Pulsar family, but with sharper edges. The front faring is the difference - It is well integrated into the rest of the bodywork, and the side lights and indicators look excellent.

With a performance motorcycle, one should really not expect a high fuel efficiency/ mileage figures - still we expect the Pulsar DTS-Fi to get around 45 kilometers to a litre.

The Pulsar DTS-Fi is expected to have a price tag of Rs. 92,000 on road. Officially, its around Rs 83,000. Of course, the figure will change a bit when it hits the road. But anyway, thanks to Bajaj for giving the average bike enthusiast a real good bike, loaded with features and that too, at an approachable price.
